SWAMP GHOST is a new DVD from Pacific Ghosts, looking at the history of Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress 41-2446. This bomber survives as a wreck in New Guinea, and is particularly notable as it can be counted as both a 'first' and a 'last'. It was the first US aircraft lost in combat in the South Pacific theatre during the first of the country's attacks on Rabaul, and is now the last fully intact B-17E wreck left in the world - and dubbed the 'Swamp Ghost'
Produced by Justin Taylan and over a year in the making, this DVD is a fascinating blend of the aircraft's history, interviews with surviving crewmembers, the story of the journey to find the B-17 and a look around the inside and outside of the wreck, as it is today.
With a running time of more than 70 minutes, Swamp Ghost is priced at $29.95 free post worldwide. To visit the 'Swamp Ghost' would be the adventure of a lifetime, but those of us now somewhat less adventurous than we used to be can at least get the story courtesy of this great programme! www.PacificGhosts.com
