Boeing B-17E 41-2446 Status Card

Archangelo Difante, USAF Archives adds:
"We believe that its Boeing model number was 299-O and the Boeing serial number was 2257. The card states this B-17 was received on December 6, 1941 and sent to Sacramento Air Depot on 8 Dec 1941. It went to Hawaii on 15 Dec 1941 and the South Pacific on 14 Mar 1942 [this date is incorrect, as the aircraft was lost in combat February 23, 1942]. This status card shows every hour of flight on the bomber, upto its deployment overseas. Also, that it was not officially stricken from the US Army inventory until October 31, 1944."
