horrors of swamp trek

Millions of mosquitoes flocked sucked their tired flesh as they pushed through waist deep swamp water and saw-toothed grass that toweerd eight feet high. Some became delierious with malaria.
The entire journey back to Port Moresby took five weeks, but all else plaes into insignificance beside the first few days, said Lieut. George Munroe, Kirkwood MO. the plane's navigator. The pilot was Lieut. Fred Eaton, New York and the copilot H. M. Harlow, Charlottesville, VA. All nine men are back on active duty after having spent about a week in a hospital.
